General Rules: The ball must hit only once inside any square. The ball may only be hit underhand, with one or two hands with palms open. The first two people in line are the rule judges. The leader leaves the game on the 5th win and can wait in line for another turn.
Procedures: Players take positions in squares 1, 2, 3 and 4. The serve always starts in square 4. The ball is served underhand from a bounce. If the serve hits a line, the server is out.To begin the game, the server hits the ball to square 1.Players hit the ball from square to square in any order until somebody misses. When someone misses, he/she goes to the end of the waiting line and the first person in line enters at square 1. All the remaining players in the game rotate one square towards 4.
A player is out for the following reasons: A player hits the ball out of bounds or on a line, A player hits the ball before it bounces one time in their square,A player lets the ball bounce more than once before hitting it,A player plays a ball that has bounced into someone else’s box, A player hits the ball with a closed fist,A player holds or carries the ball,A player falls to the ground, orA player is hit with the ball before it bounces or touches the ground.

General Rules: Players may not step on or over the centerline. The ball can be hit with one or both hands, open or closed.A player may not delay the ending of the game by hitting in the direction of their opponent. The first person in line is the rule judge. The judge calls when a player is out and why. If the judge determines the game is taking longer than 2 min, they may let the players know they will start counting to 30. Both players must leave the court if there is no winner by then.
Procedures: Each player stands on opposite sides of the circle. Players fairly decide who will start and what direction to play. The game starts when the server strikes the ball from anywhere on their side of the court. The opponent tries to hit the ball and reverse the direction of the wind.Once a player wins two games, they go to the end of the line and a new player joins the game.
A player is out for the following reasons: They throw the ball,They catch or touch the rope, They stop the ball (first graders may stop the ball), They “bubble” or double hit the ball, They touch or hold the pole, They step on the line in the game, orThey hit the ball with other body parts. *If players are using the neutral zone on the court, then a player who steps into the neutral zone or on the neutral zone line is also out. Procedures: Server throws the ball against the wall with a bounce on the ground first. The opposing player must then hit the ball against the wall with a bounce on the ground first. The players alternate hitting the ball to the wall until one player misses or lets the ball bounce more than once, or commits a foul. The ball should only be hit with an open hand or a closed fist.
A player is out for the following reasons: Server steps over the line,Any rebounding ball does not cross the service line,Ball is thrown against the wall instead of using a bounce,Ball is caught or stops,Player misses and doesn’t hit the ball after the first bounce,Player uses any body part other than a single hand, andPlayer hits the ball over the wall. * If there are only two players (no one is waiting to play), then the opponent gains the serve. A ball may not be thrown or kicked at another player.A player may not double-dribble with two hands or dribble a second series of times without passing the ball. The player must pass the ball or shoot to prevent a double dribble. This is a team sport so remember to pass the ball.
Procedures: Fair teams of 5 players on each team. If more players want to play, players will rotate in after a basket is made. The player making the basket rotates out. And waits off the court on the opposite side of the track. Students who want to rotate in wait in a line at half court. Play begins at the center of a circle in the middle of the court with a jump ball. After each successful basket, the ball is put into play at the end of the court under the basket by the team against shom the score was made.A basket from anywhere in the court scores two points. A free throw from the free throw line scores one point. If the ball goes out of bounds, it is given to a player on the opposing team. It is thrown in from the point that it went out of bounds.Any player on a team may shoot for a goal.
Fouls: A foul occurs when a player trips, pushes, holds, charges, or has any body contact with an opponent. A foul results in the opposite player receiving a free throw.
Alternatives to BASKETBALL Knock-Out Two balls only in play.No “after-bumps” of any kind. You may not bump the ball out of a player's hands. The pass back to the next player in line must be a “catchable pass.”If the pass back is errant, good sportsmanship is to pause until the player has possession of the ball before continuing the game.No friendlies- dribbling slowly before passing it to the first person in the line to allow “your friend” more time to make their basket. The first shot must be an attempt at a basket. If you win the game, you are FIRST the next game.If you are out, you must stand to the side, not under the basket. You may not interfere with the game in any way.If you kick the ball, you are out.The judge is the 3rd person in line. There are two ways to play Knock-Out: Ultimate or RegularRegular is when you are out until the next game.Ultimate is when you get back into the game when the person who got you out gets out.

At the end of the game, if students are waiting to play, teams must reorganize to include other players.
Fouls: Using your hands to touch the ball unless you are the goalie or throwing a ball in after a foul.Kicking the ball out of bounds- gives the other team possession of the ball.Purposely pushing, kicking or playing too rough.Any foul gives the other team possession of the ball at the spot where the foul occurred. No drop kicks unless you are the goalie.
